UK Public EV Charging Price Index

National average pay-as-you-go energy rates (incl. VAT) across the public charging networks we track — to our knowledge the UK’s only daily-computed public charging index. History accrues from July 2026.

Networks in the index: ubitricity, char.gy, Connected Kerb, Pod Point, bp pulse, Shell Recharge, Osprey, GRIDSERVE, IONITY and Fastned. InstaVolt and MFG EV Power will join as soon as they provide their open data.

Rapid DC

Ultra-rapid DC

Rates exclude connection/session fees; memberships can be cheaper. Coverage grows as networks join — figures reflect the networks currently tracked.

Methodology

The index is the arithmetic mean of the latest reported price at each individual station— so stations that haven’t changed price still count at their standing price, avoiding the bias of averaging only price changes. Source data is the UK Government’s statutory Fuel Finder scheme (every forecourt must report price changes within 30 minutes); implausible mis-reports are excluded. Motorway and supermarket stations are included, weighted equally. Weekly points are sampled seven days apart.
